SPOILER ALERT!!
As far as we know right now, both General Choi and Wang Son have been killed by Chul Woong. Daegil doesn’t make it in time, and finds the mountainside empty, save for General Choi’s broken spear. Chul Woong is in the distance and decides to use this to his advantage. He heads back and cleverly puts a note in Daegil’s residence saying that he will die if Daegil continues pursuing him. He signs it as Song Taeha. Daegil rushes out, but not before making it clear to Sulhwa that he could never love her. Sulhwa is broken.
Meanwhile, two slave assassins are waiting for their victims to show up. They shoot the two men, only to find out that it was a setup. They are cornered by the actual victims and held at sword point. Right when they are about to be killed, a mysterious sword-wielding slave (?) comes to save the day.
Back in the city, Taeha’s team sets out to gather resources. Chul Woong is one step ahead and begins slaying each one of them, along with the scholars they are accompanying. Taeha finds one of his fallen comrades and rushes back to the base.
Daegil, in his rage, is determined to hunt down Taeha. Before doing so, he burns the picture of Unnyeon, symbolizing his trying to part with his feelings for her. He too heads to the base. There he encounters Unnyeon, where he says that he could never love a slave. He then asks her where Taeha is, to which she responds that he should instead take her life as an act of law. As he holds the spear to her neck, Taeha shows up and holds a sword to Daegil’s neck. The episode ends with the three lovers in a stand off.
I really don’t get Daegil… First he is obsessed with finding her and now all of a sudden he treats her like dirt? Way to be consistent… Stay tuned.
