It seems a good amount of wives in Japan have ill feelings towards their husbands. How bad is it? Well, some of them want their husbands dead and some even tried to kill or harm their spouses!
A government survey that polled 1,077 men revealed that 17.8% of them were being abused in one way or another from their wives. One in a thousand thought their wives were going to kill them. This is mostly a characteristic from elderly couples but can be seen in younger ones too.
Here are three cases of hate:
Yoji was talking to his wife about retirement and how her “happiness will come first.” The wife replies “If you’re really thinking of my happiness you’ll die right this minute.” Apparently Yoji’s life has revolved around work and didn’t get to spend much time with the family. She even said, “You’ve made my life a living hell and now, all of a sudden, ‘Your happiness comes first!’ It’s a little late for that!” How harsh.
A second case involved another workaholic. Whenever his wife asked to go somewhere or do something he would reply, “Sorry, can’t. Busy.” He found her one night waving around a gas lighter and shouting, “Die! Just Die!” How scary.
Another incident involved a couple who argued a good amount. The 66 year old husband ended up getting severely burnt. Geez, that’s horrible.
Having a lifelong spouse seems complicated. I hope I end up having an ordinary marriage life with no crazy business. But, I’m probably asking too much. I heard marriage itself is a wacky job.
