Zhang Mengqian was just a normal college student looking for a potential boyfriend. So she decided to post an advertisement about her search. However the unexpected happened and thousands of suitors came “a knockin’ on her door.”

Mengqian attends the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in Chengdu where the ratio of boys to girls is 25 to 1. Thus university dubbed March 7 and 8 as girls’ day for the female students. During this time, the girls can write down a wish and post it on the wish wall.

And that is exactly what Mengqian did. She wrote that any one interested in becoming her boyfriend should come to her dorm and shout out her name. She even gave a specific time and day. When the day finally arrived, lo and behold, thousands of suitors came (though only a few actually called out her name). I bet she wasn’t expecting that kind of an outcome (who would?).
