JYP Entertainment has announced that it will be holding open auditions, starting on March 10th to April 1st for a new girl group that will be debuting sometime in May of this year. The company has stated that it is looking for girls born between 1987 and 1996. No further details regarding the group have been divulged, but much speculation is being made.
The group will allegedly be made up of both Korean and Chinese members, although it seems that the group will be a more China focused group. It is still unclear how many members will actually be chosen from this audition, but many are speculating that it will just be one; the reason being that the spot being filled is, in fact, Hae Lim’s spot in the Chinese group known as Sisters.
Sisters is a Chinese group under JYP Entertainment that has been making scattered appearances in China for a little bit now. Their debut may soon be at hand if this audition is indeed to fill out the hole left by Lim’s transfer to the Wonder Girls.
If you’ve never heard of Sisters, they are a rather vocally impressive group. You can see their cover of the Wonder Girl’s Rainstone Remix of Nobody below (audio is slightly out of sync):
They are, in my opinion, vocally more powerful than the Wonder Girls as a whole.
