Utada Hikaru’s Keep Tryin’ [MV]

Today’s Music Video of the Day features Utada Hikaru and her adorable music video Keep Tryin from her ULTRA BLUE album. This MV has Utada dressed up as various characters going through their busy lives. It’s really cute and colorful. I especially like the parts where it transitions between the characters when she’s walking or handing over various objects. Like this:

Love it! The song is very uplifting and has a nice, encouraging message too (hint: look at the title). I love almost all of Utada’s music videos, including this one. You can bet that I’ll feature more Utada in future Music Video of the Days.

0:54- Kid referencing her Final Distance MV with the mannequin (the Tsubasa like scene)
2:50- The two dresses she wore in her Sakura Drops MV
3:52- Group of people marching are from her traveling MV
4:04- Utada’s very own cartoon cat Chuichi running on top of the buildings

I love this song and MV from her! I’ve liked every MV that the director Kazuaki Kiriya made for Utada, and this is one of my all-time favorites. When I sometimes go through hard times, I think of this song and the lyrics, and it lightens up my mood.
