The Discovery Channel recently launched a documentary on Olympic gold-medalist Kim Yuna. Using the city of Seoul, South Korea as a setting, the documentary tells about how far Yuna and women in general have come through the years.

One segment of the documentary features Korean pop group 2NE1. 2NE1 is known for their strong and powerful female concept and was an ideal choice for the portrayal of the progress of women in Korea. Songs such as “I Don’t Care” portray a strong female image that is not subservient to any male influence. Check it out!

Woo, go 2NE1!

I didn’t watch the documentary so I didn’t know about that… it’s great that they were featured in it! =D I also didn’t know that 70% of their fans were girls, and that they were promoting independence for women… I never realized. It’s awesome! =D

Ah yes, I missed this. :(
Jinu’s English is really good. o_O
I totally didn’t think about 2NE1 as promoting independence for women or that over 70% of 2NE1’s fans were girls. That’s really cool!
