This is just so wrong on so many levels. Wang Chaoxu from south west China ate part of 11-year-old Li Xuetang’s brain, in hopes of curing his epilepsy.
Li’s mother became worried when she couldn’t find her son anywhere in the village. She even went as far as requesting for a radio broadcast in the village, asking her son to come home for dinner. Little did she know of the horror that awaited her.
Li Xuetang was found buried in a grain field with his head split open and a chunk of his brain missing after a village leader found a couple of bloody rocks and some fractured bones nearby.
Wang Chaoxu was arrested after a villager saw him crouching, holding the child by the neck before the boy’s body was found. When he approached Wang, Wang started shaking the child and claimed that it was his son and that he was trying to wake him up.
Wang believed that if he ate the brain with ants and earthworms, his illness would go away. It seems to be an old village tale.
A 3-year-old girl was found dead in the public toilets with a knife in her head. Police are investigating whether or not Wang had anything to do with this incident.
