Jin Akanishi of the Japanese boyband KAT-TUN is set to perform in Los Angeles in June and will stay there until October. The rest of KAT-TUN will be on an Asian tour throughout July and August. Akanishi has been receiving love calls from the U.S., reportedly. After a series of solo concerts, UTB, an American cable channel that focuses on Japanese programs, sent him an offer. He will stay in L.A. for promotional activities and might have more concerts. All concerts will be performed in English since Akanishi has studied in L.A. before.

As an avid fangirl of Johnny’s Entertainment, this makes me happy and sad. Happy, because, well, obviously Japan is starting to get more notice, and it is always nice to see people performing for more American fans. Sad, because KAT-TUN will be touring without him. There have already been rumors about how the group members (mainly Akanishi and Kamenashi) don’t get along. Honestly, I don’t see how he can’t do both.
