If you don’t know who 2NE1 is then you’ve clearly been living in some sort of cave in a far off land in outer space. The four-member girl group from YG Entertainment has been stirring up quite the commotion ever since their debut late last year. The group has been highly successful and have several distinguishing features that differentiate them from other current girl groups in the industry. Keep reading to find out why I think 2NE1 is so successful.

1. Raw talent
While Dara is not entirely a great singer, her three other comrades are certainly forces to be reckoned with. Bom is definitely the designated “power singer” of the group, and she certainly lives up to that name. Both Minzy and CL are not only great rappers but they are also amazing singers, as well.

2. Powerful image
2NE1 distinguishes themselves from other groups by sporting a markedly different concept in comparison to other groups. Most other groups have either a sexy or cute concept. 2NE1, on the other hand, completely abandons the traditional concepts of femininity and instead portrays a powerful female concept. Through both their image and their songs, 2NE1 is empowering their female fans to break common stereotypes of what women should be like and encouraging them to adopt confidence in themselves despite what any guys may think.

3. Charisma
Going along with the “powerful image” idea, 2NE1 is also a very charismatic group; people are drawn to them. Two of the outstandingly charismatic members of 2NE1 are CL and Dara. CL is, without a doubt, the HBIC and acts as such. Dara has an air about her that just makes people inclined to like her. Furthermore, the group members simply love what they’re doing. As evidenced from their stage present and their energy level, the members of 2NE1 simply love music and performances.
