The girl groups craze of 2009 has shown its lasting effects at the 7th Korean Music Awards, where the judges are known to be unbiased and based their decisions purely on talents. Brown Eyed Girls and SNSD, two of Kpop’s biggest girl groups, grabbed home some awards during that night.

The 7th Korean Music Awards ceremony took place this week in Seoul KangNamDong’s Kunsthalle.

And amongst the list of musicians recognize for their good music released in 009, girl groups SNSD and Brown Eyed Girls are the 2 idol groups awarded for 2 award categories each.

▲Song of the year= So Nyeo Shi Dae (‘Gee’)
▲Netizens’ choice group= So Nyeo Shi Dae

▲Best dance and electronic album=Brown Eyed Girls(‘Sound-G’)
▲Best dance and electronic song =Brown Eyed Girls(‘Abracadabra’)
