Godzilla fans rejoice! According to Daily Variety, Legendary Pictures and Warner Brothers Pictures will co-produce a new Godzilla film with a planned release date in 2012. There are also rumors that it might possibly be in 3-D.

The film is planned to follow the original 1954 movie rather than be a follow up the 1998 American remake (which was crap according to a lot of Godzilla fans). Thomas Tull, president of Legendary Pictures, said, “We plan to make a Godzilla movie that we, as fans, would want to see. We intend to do justice to those essential elements that have allowed the character to remain as pop-culturally relevant for as long as it has.” Good news for you die-hard fans out there.

I might possibly watch it but I’m not a fan of monster movies. I have not seen a single Godzilla movie nor have I seen The Host. Are they somewhat similar to horror or action films? Trailers and previews tend to give off that kind of vibe. Which monster movies would you recommend?
