Many things have happened since January, especially in terms of American-born singer and model Leah Dizon. I’ve been surreptitiously monitoring Leah’s activities for the past few months and will now present you with a report.
On February 11, Leah appeared on the The 404’s 517th podcast. The 404 hosts Jeff Bakalar, Wilson Tang and Justin Yu, and The Green Show’s Mark Licea got the opportunity to catch up with her.
At that time, Leah was visiting New York (obviously taking a break from her Japanese activities to take care of her daughter). They spoke about her high school life and how she studied Japanese for two years during that period. She said that she had a dream to go to Japan and do music there.
Mark actually went to school and hung out with Leah so that added an interesting perspective to the podcast. The conversation then moved on to how she became an international superstar. She sent a demo tape to an agency and that was when her music career started.
After, Leah spoke about the differences between the U.S. and Japan and how advanced their technology was. This was my favourite part of the podcast. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the podcast. You can decide for yourself whether like it or not by downloading it here.
Pictures of Leah and Mila have been released! This photo was published in the February edition of the Glamorous Magazine (Japan). Mila was eight months old in the photo.
On March 5, Leah updated her official blog (her last update was in January). She made a total of five posts in March. Also, new pictures have been added to each section on her official website.
In the first post, she apologised for the lack of updates on her blog and said that her daughter, Mila (almost one year old now), had started walking. She updated her blog again on March 8, saying that she went to see kabuki (traditional Japanese theatre). Her last update was on March 28. She said that she took Mila to the park on the weekend and that they both enjoy listening to Paul McCartney. Oh, she’s so funny.
On March 25, Leah attended the Japanese premiere of the movie, District 9 in Tokyo. Hong Kong actor, Edison Chen, also attended the event.
I didn’t realise until a few months after, that Leah Dizon had released a song for the PS3 game, Katamari Forever. In 2009, August 19, the Katamari Forever OST was released. Leah provided the vocals for the mash-up of the OST tracks “Everlasting Love” and “You are Smart”, and it is titled “Everlasting + You”.
