Today’s Music Video of the Day features j-rock band ELLEGARDEN with their Space Sonic MV from their Eleven Fire Cracker album. The video is strange with the boys performing on stage as women. Vocalist Takeshi Hosomi doesn’t look so bad as a girl but it’s still weird to see. The comedic setting of the video doesn’t really match the lyrics and tone of the song. I wonder if there’s a meaning behind the cross dressing. Anyone want to share their interpretation?

The song is sung entirely in English and it’s not half bad. You can basically make out most of what Takeshi is saying. If you’re new to ELLEGARDEN, they have done plenty of songs in English which are equally as good as Space Sonic. I would recommend A Thousand Smiles and Mr. Feather. As for their Japanese songs, I would recommend Jitterbug and Knife. Enjoy~
