Some of the spring season anime has already begun. Most of it looks pretty boring though. The only series I’m really interested in is Arakawa Under the Bridge. I have watched Heroman and B Gata H Kei though, and didn’t like them. Heroman might get better, but I only watched B Gata H Kei because of the intriguing description.

Heroman is a pretty cliched. The main character is some random ordinary guy with nothing going for him. A lightning bolt turns his toy robot into “heroman.” And then I’m assuming he’ll eventually save the world or universe or something. Nothing new, but it’s something to pass the time with.

B Gata H Kei seemed like a giant joke to me. A very well animated and high budget joke. I stopped watching it halfway through because of boredom. A girl seeking 100 sex friends doesn’t seem to work as a main character in a romantic comedy.

Arakawa Under the Bridge met my expectations at the first episode. It was funny and introduced some incredibly memorable characters. It seems pretty faithful to the original story too, and I love the voice for Nino.

The OVAs are pretty awesome. Black Rock Shooter, Gundam Unicorn, Nodame Cantabile and Gurren Lagann are all something I definitely have to keep up with.
