The KPOP Battles: T-ara Vs. B2ST match has been the largest and closest Mixr League Gaming match since we started a few months ago. B2ST started the competition off strong holding down 8 of the 11 games in the match during the first 36 hours of the tournament. Then slowly but surely T-ara players took an ever so slight one-point lead towards the end of the 2nd day. The last 24 hours saw that one-point lead shift back and forth constantly, making it impossible to predict the winner in advance. Even in the last hour, the leads kept shifting back and forth. In the end, 49 seconds was the difference in a 72 hour match. Read on for the breakdown.

Meltdown

These are very admirable scores for an extremely challenging game. B2ST takes the first point leading 1-0. Kudos to hana_jaejoong for beating a Rank A Ningin gamer.

Crystal Caverns

th3thr33 took the lead early in the match and had very little competition in this game. conkwe got close in the final hour but ran out of time. B2ST leads 2-0.

Cube Crash

GSwizzie struck early and held on to her score for almost the entirety of the match. crimsion29 had the top score for B2ST for most of the match and finally overtook her rival in the final hours of the match. When I saw this, I thought T-ara would lose because it was a T-ara controlled game for most of the match. B2ST leads 3-0.

Kebab Van

Funny game huh? T-ara did not have much of a presence here. The top three scores belong to B2ST players. kissthelollipop was the highest for T-ara, but 4th highest overall. B2ST leads 4-0.

Gride

This game was the opposite of Kebab Van. T-ara players dominated for most of the match with IC3_K155’s score topping everyone. ohmygoddenise did admirably for B2ST, but T-ara gets their first victory here. B2ST still leads 4-1.

Last Canopy

This game sucked. It’s too long and somewhat boring. I removed it from the tournament list. Congrats to Premo2546 for his score. Musta taken him forever to get this. Not many scores were submitted for this game which is understandable. B2ST leads 5-1. One more for B2ST and they win.

Dogg Nation

kuryuuxx and harmonixia are friends in real life. It seemed that those two were battling each other in this game throughout the match with kuryuuxx always in the lead and harmonixia always slightly behind. I was shocked to look at the final score and see harmonixia win this in the end. This had been a B2ST controlled game for so long and she makes a big save for Team T-ara. B2ST still leads 5-2.

Ball Balance

The first of Kizuninha’s victory comes here. If we were giving out MVP awards, she would get one for winning two matches. ayusaga made it close in the end, but not quite enough. B2ST leads 5-3. Seems that one win is very elusive to them.

Good job by both players. This is a seemingly very easy game but it’s hard to get a high score. Kizuninha held the lead for most of this match and T-ara desperately needed this. Now the match is 5-4 with B2ST leading by only one.

The competition for this game was the most fierce. Lots of lead changes. IC3_K155 would be Co-MVP in my book for winning this because it would prove to be the pivotal match in the game. kuryuuxx may be second for the match, but she actually has the highest score in this game…which was submitted 49 secs after the match was over. Wow! I debated with myself about whether to count it. But the rules are that all scores must be submitted before the match is over. That 49 secs is the difference in this match folks. We’re now tied at 5 a piece.

Mega Fortress

We’re left with the game that I focused on. No pressure right? At first I couldn’t figure out this game. th3thr33 held the high score for day 1. At the end of day 2 it was me. With about 10 hours left, th3thr33 bested me again. Try as I might, I could not beat the high score even though I would constantly be close, within 1000 points. Then I figured something out about the game. It’s not a bug mind you, rather a strategy of killing the tanks in the game. With that strategy, you can theoretically go on indefinitely racking up points. But I figured 60k was enough and stopped. So there you have it.

T-ara wins 6-5 in one of the best MLG matches ever!

T-ara advances to main bracket and will face fans of SNSD whenever I schedule that.
