All this news of DBSK going their separate ways and doing solo things has got me thinking about the state of the solo artist in Asian pop music. It’s not unusual for artists to embark on solo careers even if just for a little bit. There’s G-Dragon, Hyori, Brian from Fly to the Sky. With all these boy and girl groups, it makes me wonder — will solo artists ever dominate? Ever look at individual boy and girl group members and think, “Wow, they could do so much better on their own.”

My poll question for you:

Who do you think is worthy of a solo career and why?

i say Junsu def.

As everyone said, Junsu’s probably going to do really well solo. That said, I think it’s much more difficult to make it big as a solo artists. It’s easier to promote groups when they’re “not promoting” through different shows. Send one member to a variety, and send another member to a drama. It’s much harder to do with a single member.

Yeah, I agree with Suzanne. I think some truly talented members get stifled by their groups and their image. She already mentioned Taeyeon and Luna, but I think Eunjung of T-ara as well since she can sing, dance and rap.

^yeah nor do I, temporary side solo projects are great. :D shows off each member’s skills and singing. but they are the best when they are together as 5 <3

exactly what i was thinking

As much as I would want them to stay together as 5, I think Junsu will definitely be the most worthy in a solo pop music career :D
He’s got everything it takes to be successful, and stand out from others :D

i think its ok for them to branch out on a album or 2 but ultimatly i think they need to stay together just like GD T.O.P Tae panda and dae

It’s nice to know that they do well on their own but I still like them better as a group

^ yes lets wait. i dont mind any of the dbsk members to go solo...but only temporarily but nothing can replace dbsk...ever

it’s worthy for him to go solo..
he has powerful voice!!!
it’s worthy for all the members to go solo too..
but when they are together, they are the God Of The East..
let’s wait...> ~ <

I think it’s worthy but of course, I would like him to be with DBSK.
I want them together again.

Ergg.. I want DBSK to be agroup again, the way it was in the beginning !! -.-’’
I’ll look forward to this..

of course he is worthy!
its because he has the voice and even his brother is a solo artist XD

but he is better with tvxq “:D

^yes he definitely did<3 I’m looking forward sooo much to his solo album<3 He is so good at what he does, I’m so glad he’s coming out with a solo xD

Hmm, Junsu, he did a pretty good on solo, I imagine.

As much as I support Junsu going solo I can’t really imagine it coz I’ve always seen him with his members T____T But I’m sure with an angel voice like Junsu’s he’ll definitely do well! I think G-Dragon will also make a great soloist ^^

Mm, I’d have to go with Junsu at this moment. I would love it if he produced some solo albums but also continue activities as a group. It’s nice to have a variety of voices in different songs ;D But for Junsu, you can’t get bored of his voice xD at all. And jaejoong. HIs voice is great too, really strong, and really emotional.

In terms of other groups… I would say that probably.. Hm I’d have to think about that a litle longer. xD

Brian did absolutelyyy amazing going solo

i’d say junsu, jaejoong, and gd....pretty much like everyone else haha.
i think they will do really well...and they have.

but i honestly would prefer to have junsu and jaejoong to sing as DBSK, but if worse comes to worse, im sure they as well as all of the other DBSK members will do well in solo careers

If I have to chose one, I chose Junsu because he as all a very special voice..he can sing any kind of music with such a passion that he actually makes you pay attention to the lyrics and forget about everything else ... here is an example of his beautiful voice http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_TodSe5Am0 ^_^ (this has nothing to do with the fact that I love TVXQ XD)

Hehehe I agree with the Junsu! ^^ Or G-Dragon would do well too! :D

Seems like everyone took what I was going to say…

Junsu would do really well going solo (and he is). He’s an amazing dancing, has a wonderfully unique voice, and so much passion and stage presence. If I had to pick a second person, I would also advocate Jaejoong, because he definitely has the voice for it.

I wouldn’t mind Taeyeon from SNSD or Luna from f(x) going solo either. They have amazing voices and I feel as though the songs their groups receive stifle the extent of what they can really do.

Wow, seems like everyone is all for Junsu going solo.

Me? I’d like to see...Amber from f(x). I like that she stands apart from all the girls in f(x).

Junsu will do a GREAT job as a solo artist! He is talented, and he had a (really) good start ( career so far - :D) with DBSK.

Junsu or JaeJoong ^_^ They can really sing *_* But I prefer them as group too!

I think Junsu is worthy of a solo career.. but I still prefer them as group though raspberry
