Sadly, a lot of you probably don’t remember Supernova, or Choshinsung, a Kpop boyband that was famous for all the members being over 180cm (about 5′11″). They never quite got as much attention as I think they should have, but now it seems that they’ve completely dropped off the Kpop radar. More »

From Wirebot:

Then there is no way you should miss this contest. Starting now and running through April 30th, whoever has the highest score in Fruit Ninja, the addictive, fun, and ridiculous iPhone game I mentioned last week, will be immortalized in Fruit Ninja history forever. Get in the game! More »

In 2004, a Korean two-member group called Shyne debuted. Composed of twin sisters Bonnie and Sunny, the group focused on songs that combined elements of pop and hip-hop. The group also released a single in Japan, but unfortunately, sales fell flat, and the group hasn’t been around since. Well, it’s good to know that they left behind some jewels like today’s song of the day: “S.O.S.More »

We know how Kpop artists have their own special fan club names like Cassiopeia (DBSK), V.I.Ps (Big Bang), Shawol (SHINee), S♥NEs (SNSD), etc. It’s like a little pride of being a fan girl/boy! So guess what CNBLUE’s official fan club name is? More »

No offense, but normally, guys that do dance cover of girl songs seem kind of… (for lack of a better word) gay. This dance cover by BJ Dance Complex, however, has totally changed my perspective on guys dancing “girly” songs. In this video, he does a cover of the new After School single, “BANG!More »

Forbes Korea has released their yearly survey. This time they ranked the most hardworking idols from 2009-2010. Although every idol has to work their butts off to get through everything during these hard economic times, whose persistence has shined through? More »

Zhou Youping, a gay singer in China, posted personal ads on various gay websites looking for a person willing to be his “slave” (in a sadomasochistic way). However the nights that could have ended in ecstacy ended up with murder instead. More »

From Rekuru: Kaibutsu-kun, based on the manga of the same name, stars Satoshi Ohno (of Arashi), Choi Hong Man (Korean K-1 fighter), Masahiro Mastuoka (from TOKIO), and Takeshi Kaga (known as Chairman Kaga from Iron Chef). It starts off in the land of monsters when Kaibutsu-kun (Ohno) is to succeed the throne of his father (Kaga). The werewolf clan, franken clan, and vampire clan send companions to his father. You can totally see that Kaibutsu-kun is super childish as he rejects the gifts Werewolf, Frankenstein and Dracula give. The king decides that Kaibutsu-kun has to complete one thing before he can take the throne, and that’s to go to the human world and help a human. More »

Plagiarism. Like our little friend up there shows us, plagiarism is the act of presenting another’s work or ideas as your own. In light of the recent plagiarism scandals that are currently flooding the Korean pop music scene, I figured I would do some analyzing on 1) what exactly constitutes plagiarism, 2) who’s to blame and 3) the reaction of fans. So much great stuff happened this week that there was no way we’d let *4/20 or Earth Day get in our way. We all witnessed the DBSK Decathlon Awards Ceremony — the DBSK Decathlon was the first decathlon-type MLG match of its kind. Certainly, it won’t be our last as we’ve also announced the Super Junior Decathlon this week. We also kicked off our first MLG KPOP Battle, pitting T-ARA fans against B2ST fans — stay tuned for the results of that battle. Another important thing to note is that instead of having 10 top users, we now have 20: More »
