This could be bad news or good news depending on how you feel towards the current progression of the Fullmetal Alchemist series. The FMA Brotherhood anime and the FMA manga are both due to end in the following months.

FMA Brotherhood director Yasuhiro Irie twittered that the staff for the anime is currently working on the ending of the anime series and that FMA creator Hiromu Arakawa has already planned out the ending for the manga. Both will basically have the same ending.

Shonen Gangan, the manga magazine FMA is serialized in, confirmed that the manga will end in June.

I’m happy yet sad at the same time. I’m happy because the manga is finally ending and I felt that it has been dragging too much lately. However, I’m sad too because one of my all time favorite anime/manga series is finally coming to an end. The recent FMA Brotherhood anime was too rushed for me. I only saw a few episodes but I didn’t feel the same emotional attachment I had with the original anime series that came before it.
