Hands down, My Lovely Sam-soon is my favorite drama ever. It’s so good, I haven’t been able to fully watch a Kdrama since it came out in 2005! To me, it’s got everything I could need from a drama — comedy, romance, some drama and a lot of hot dudes. In a nutshell, My Lovely Sam-soon is the Korean version of Bridget Jones, but spread over 16 episodes. Here’s a list of reasons why I think it’s great:

- It was the drama that catapulted Daniel Henney and Hyunbin into superstardom!
- 40% of Korea watched it — no other drama has ever reached that wide of an audience.
- The main character, Sam Soon, is a patisserie chef. Not one episode is without dessert or baked goods.
- Did I mention Daniel Henney and Hyunbin?
- The drama’s protagonist, Sam-soon, is the Korean version of Bridget Jones, making the drama’s story unique. No one’s ever touched upon older females who are single, overweight and unemployed before My Lovely Sam Soon.
- Sam-soon is a completely relateable character who conveys a great message to females: It’s okay to not be perfect. It’s also okay to speak your mind.
- It inspired me to do something I’ve never done before in my whole life — hike… a mountain featured in the drama:

(And visit Korea twice, visiting most, if not all My Lovely Sam Soon filming locations.)
