Prime minister of Japan, Yukio Hatoyama, has been under a lot of pressure lately. His approval rating, which now stands at an embarrassing 24%, is now at an all time low. Keith Henry, a government affairs expert, says that, “As a politician, you want to have the focus on policy and your agenda. I think the press and the Japanese people have lost patience with him; patience to the extent that they’re no longer paying attention to his policy proposals because no one has faith in his ability to implement them.

To add to his long list of woes, the prime minister was recently slammed with negative criticisms for his choice in clothing. The shirt in question, pictured above, is described by analyst Don Konishi as “… com[ing] from the ’80s or ’90s. His ideas and philosophy are old. Japan is facing a crisis and we can’t overcome it with a prime minister like this.” This isn’t the first time, though. The prime minister is known for his outfits that are fit for fashion designers and not for politicians.

Hatoyama is aware of his low approval ratings and comments that, “I take it seriously that my approval ratings are down significantly. But I’m not going to quit.

How would we react if Obama (or the leader from whatever country you’re in) wore something like that?

yeah i would criticize my politician if they wore a ridiculous outfit, but i would do that for anyone. Their choice of clothing will not affect my opinion on their ability to lead (of lack of ability) my country.

ooooh, interesting… no wonder Japan’s people are also interesting!

What is he wearing?! 0_0;

that outfit among other politicians just seems.. out of place..

yeah, a little shocker he got there. but who says he cant do cosplay? haha

nice shirt, wonder where I could get one like that xD

Appearance is everything...you can be the smartest in the world but if the first impression is off then you can not gain the confidence of your peers.  That shirt should be used as old cleaning rags and not be worn at this point.

I don’t think it’d affect me much. However, presentation of one self still affects or is included in character.

uughh.. sorry.. didn’t bother to read the passage..
it was enough to see puke walking around.. o_O.. >:o~

If that isn’t a fashion faux-pas, I don’t know what is.
