In Japan, a woman was arrested for leaving her baby in a car for three and a half hours while she was at a pachinko parlor which resulted in her son’s death.

Hikari Yamasaki left her 6-month-old baby in the car without turning on the air conditioner in a parking lot with no roof. Under these conditions, the baby eventually suffered heat stroke and died. What kind parent would leave a baby unattended for three and half hours any way? A very foolish one to say the least.

At first Yamasaki told police that her son looked ill when she returned to the car from shopping for one to two hours. Then the following day she changed her story and told police the story above.

Geez. What an irresponsible parent. It’s not like she needed to play panchinko. If she couldn’t find a baby sitter she should have just stayed at home with her child.

This actually happened to someone I know. But he didn’t know he left his baby in the car...he thought he already brought her to daycare.. *brings back memories* ToT

I heard a story like this too.  Where the guy was so use to doing his normal routine that the day he was to take the baby to daycare he forgot the baby was in the car.  Now, that was a total accident but when people know that their kids are in the car like that it makes you wonder if they do it on purpose.  There is no way you can forget a 6 month old like that.  I am surprised someone did not hear it crying or did not walk by and see it.


I felt bad for the baby. What was his/her mother thinking? o.O

poor baby. this is why we have a law about leaving children alone in the car here in the US.
