The Wonder Girls released their latest single, entitled 2 Different Tears, recently. The single, released in three different languages, was like a breath of fresh air for many fans, as many have said that they were getting tired of the Wonder Girls’ last hit single, Nobody. Keep reading to see what kind of tears I cried for this new song…

… Well, frankly, this song made my cry two different tears. There were some parts of the song I found to be very good and other that parts that I was disappointed with. Let’s start with the negatives:

- I don’t really dig the fact that Sohee’s voice is accompanied by an intense backtrack every time it comes up. I mean, yeah, she can’t sing that well, but there are other ways of making her sound better.

- Yoobin’s rap was a little underwhelming. With a song like this, I was expecting a more “Tell Me” reminiscent rap. I guess the language barrier kind of limited her rapping abilities, though, so it seems like their hands were tied here.

Things I liked were:

- The introduction is actually pretty nice. Yeeun has some nice vocals, and it’s good to see them put to good use.

- The song really shows fans that Lim really isn’t as untalented and useless as most people initially thought. Her English (and Chinese) are very clear, and her vocals really aren’t that bad.

- The ad lib rifts near the end were pretty nicely done, although I think they could have pushed it just a bit further than they did.

Overall, I think the song is a catchy one. You all know how I feel about catchy songs though; they tend to burn out fast. I’m thinking people are going to get somewhat tired of this song after awhile, the same way that people got sick of “Nobody” after it was promoted for the amount of time that it was.

RATING: 3.5/5
