Jay Chou, renowned music idol from Taiwan, released his tenth studio album, entitled The Era, on May 18. The album release was previously delayed due to the massive number of pre-orders that came in for it. In Hong Kong, the album sold 70,000 copies in the first day, breaking the previous record held by Jay’s November’s Chopin album.

The album itself comes encased in a metal 3D box to commemorate this album milestone. The new album, which follows a vampire theme, promises to be something new. Jay previously stated that he wanted to dabble in different styles of music, and this album is somewhat of an experiment.

I haven’t gotten a chance to listen to all of the album yet, but from what I’ve heard, I can tell you that the tracks seem to be indeed influenced by a new concept but still retaining traces of the signature Jay Chou style.
