Anime Expo has announced that it will host Rei Hiroe, the creator of the Black Lagoon manga series, at its event this summer. In addition, the very first episode of the new anime, Black Lagoon: Roberta’s Blood Trail, will make its worldwide debut at the convention two weeks before it is scheduled to air in Japan.
Anime Expo, taking place in Los Angeles, will be open from July 1st to July 4th. The Black Lagoon first episode-screening is set to take place on the first day of the convention. The highly popular manga has sold over 4.5 million copies in Japan, and is set to release its ninth volume in the United States in July. It revolves around the story of a businessman who gets caught up in the ventures of an Asian mercenary/pirate group.
