I was pleasantly surprised when I came across this little jewel today from one of my Facebook friends. Nathalie Makoma is an artist under Sony Entertainment Netherlands, and her second single, called I Just Wanna Dance, is an English cover of SNSD’s hit song “Tell Me Your Wish (Genie).”

It seems to me that way too many die-hard SNSD fans are picking up their arms and getting defensive. I was, and still am, a big fan of the “Genie” song, but even I will admit that this version has a sick back beat when compared to the SNSD version. Not only that but the fact that this girl has some seriously legitimate vocals makes it all the better. Check it out, and let me know what you think!

SNSD! I still prefer SNSD!


This version is not bad.
Though I do prefer SNSD’s version better.

Kind of strange in hearing it in English XD too used to SNSD’s version.
But I still love SNSD’s version better ! -totally unbiased- :D..

it’s not bad, in fact, I think the vocals are nice
but it does offer a different view than that given by snsd


I really like the genie song from SNSD. It’s kind of weird hearing it in English but I actually like it.

i like it, the only thing is that claps/clicks are opposite of when im used to it in the SNSD version so it throws me off lol (yeah im weird like that lol)

hahaha yes, I’m a s♥ne u.u I won’t kill anybody, but what does it mean with “legitimate” vocals.. are taeyeon’s vocals not hers or what?
Let’s see if this nathalie can dance it the same jjang way as SNSD wink

“legitimate” vocals means that they’re legitimately good. and as gswizzle said, yeah, taeyeon should really step it up. if she’s the best singer in snsd, and still pales in comparison to nathalie makoma, then dang, the ENTIRE group should step up.

it should go without saying that this version is seriously good. if 1 can give 9 a run for their money, 9 should probably start practicing.
