Chinese basketball star Yao Ming, who is currently a center for the Houston Rockets, is the new father of a baby girl! His wife, Ye Li, gave birth in Houston on Friday. Although the name of the young one has yet to be released, it was revealed that she weighed seven pounds and nine ounces.

“I am very excited about the arrival of our daughter,” Yao said in a statement. “This is a very special moment in our lives and we thank everyone for their kindness and support.” And now the next thing I think that comes to mind is how tall this baby will become. With a father towering above others at the height of 7′ 6″ and a mother with a height of 6′ 2″, one can only imagine what kind of genes this one inherited.
