This weekend, I was at historic Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in the heart of San Francisco for MYX MASH, a concert featuring performances from hip-hop giant T-Pain, K-pop superstar act Brown-Eyed Girls and hot chart-topping producer-turned-solo artist Bruno Mars.

The performing artists in MYX MASH brought in a truly international flavor that represents diverse Asian American musical interests. I wasn’t expecting T-Pain to be here, nor had I an interest in the performance due to the fact that I’ve been transitioning into listening to mostly Kpop music these days.

During the Brown Eyed Girls’ performance, it seemed almost all the Asian people in the crowd were screaming for Ga-in due to the fact she was beautiful that night! That and, it was also their biggest US concert.

I didn’t really know who was Bruno Mars was ‘til I really did listen to his music and got into it gradually. As a member of the production team, the Smeezingtons, Mars has produced and been featured on “Billionaire” from Travie McCoy (of Gym Class Heroes), “Right Round” from Flo Rida, and on the hit single from B.o.B., “Nothin’ on You” which reached no. 2 in Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart this year.

In conclusion, it definitely was a great experience seeing BEG as my first KPOP concert. What made my day was after the performance, I passed by Ga-In in person and screamed into to the point of ecstasy of happiness! I got an autograph from her and gave her a hug of appreciation for taking their time singing their souls out. After the concert, I had some great Korean food and then was happily satisfied with my night!
