Super Junior recently made a comeback with their album ‘Bonamana’, which instantly became a hit. With their popularity soaring everywhere, news reporters poured in for more interviews on the members. Leeteuk and Heechul, in particular, revealed 2 interesting secrets.
It has come to everyone’s attention that member Kangin would enter the army in July of this year. Super Junior said, “Of course, we have to fulfill the duty of national defense. Many people think that celebrities avoid entering the army, but we will go into the army as Korean men.”
Leeteuk took it a step further when he added, “I’m thinking of entering into the army next year. It could be at the end of 2011 or the beginning of 2012. I’m going to work hard until I enter into the army and I will come back as Super Junior.”
Does that means one less Super Junior member would appear in their next album? That’s a sad thought…
On the other hand, the shocking news of member Hankyung leaving the group earlier due to disputes with SM Entertainment also caught on the spotlight.
After Hankyung’s leave, member Heechul became depressed especially. He lived in the same dorm as Hankyung and had a special relationship with him. Their special relationship can be observed with his cyworld minihompy containing full of pictures that they took together. He said, “I was in a big chaos. It was difficult for me to laugh on TV and dance on stage.”
Afterwards, he did not go on stage including year-end award shows. For 3 months, he lived in seclusion, locking his door. His only friends were two cats. Heechul revealed, “I had some lingering emotions. Since I did not meet any people, depression got worse. I had lived with Hankyung, drink together and was really close. It was mentally difficult.”
His mind became comfortable after thinking, “when we and Hankyung do well we can meet each other.” Heechul was able to talk about difficult problems on variety shows.
“Because he’s a friend, I despise him, feel sorry, upset. Even though I have many mixed emotions, I’ve become better now.” Heechul said, “I told Hankyung to come over when he gets married.”
After experiencing various incidents like these, however, the remaining Super Junior members became more close. Heechul said, “what I learned after experiencing this is that we have to treat each other well when they are with us. We were able to feel the members’ preciousness.”
Leeteuk also said, “I think we are working harder to fill the empty spaces of other members. There’s always a place for them. They just have to come back. We are going to work harder so that when they feel that they want to come back, they would be able to come back without any burden.”
What a touching story…I hope everything will be better soon for the rest of the members.
