After the 63rd annual Cannes Film Festival was all said and done with, it was revealed that fifteen different countries had bought the rights to the new Korean film entitled The Housemaid.

The erotic-thriller 1960 remake, which did not win any awards at the festival, was bought up by France, Italy, Germany, Greece, Russia, Israel, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, New Zealand, Australia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand. The United States, to the surprise of many, did not purchase rights to the film. Reviews of the movie were largely positive, and the performances of the entire cast was highly praised.

Hm. This movie seems to be gaining quite the attention. Perhaps I’ll check it out when it’s released.
