Just like any average healthy Korean Joe, Rain too, must enlist for the army. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been nominated for an MTV Movie Award for being badass and it also doesn’t matter that you played a Ninja Assassin. Nor does it matter that we interviewed you and you gave me a birthday card for my birthday last year. (Sorry guys, I am never going to live that one down.) You still have to go to the army.

Interestingly enough, his initial enlistment date was September 28 of this year. Somehow, he’s too busy studying ‘mass cultural arts’ at some university. I call B.S. — if I was a male Kpop star, I’d try to stay as relevant for as long as I can and milk my fame for as long as I can. After all, he’ll be 28 next year. When he’s out of the army, he’ll be 30. 30 in Korea is considered ancient. Who knows what’ll happen to him then?
