Cockroaches are one of the most despised creatures of this planet. But despite that, can they be, dare I say it, cute? Looking at some pictures from a manga, I can safely say “Yes, they can.”

It seems Japan can make anything look adorable, even poo. This time around, a mangaka was able to create a manga about a cute little cockroach named Gokicha-chan who moves from the Kanto region to Hokkaido to try to become friends with the human species.

I think it’s a cute idea though my original opinion of cockroaches won’t change (I hate insects!). I wonder though, if otaku who get obsessed over this character will start to capture roaches to keep as pets or maybe even start to worship them in hopes of Gokicha-chan showing up? Or maybe they’ll try to make the roaches cosplay as her? Scary ideas, I know, but obsessed otaku do some of the strangest and craziest things.
