According to the Oricon charts, the hit anime film by Hayao Miyazaki, My Neighbor Totoro, has officially broken the one millionth mark for number of DVDs sold. Oricon cites the millionth DVD as being sold last week.

The 1988 film was first remastered into DVD format in September of 2001. This milestone comes 440 weeks after its initial release. A notable fact is that the film has stayed on the Oricon top 300 DVDs chart ever since its debut in digital format. This movie is definitely a classic, and if you haven’t seen it yet, I highly suggest you grab your own copy!
