Evangelion: 2.22 Blu-ray and DVD were released last week in Japan and apparently, beat Michael Jackson’s This Is It in Blu-ray sales.
The Oricon Weekly Blu-ray Disc Sales Chart reports that the Evangelion Blu-ray sold 357,000 copies in its first week of sales, exceeding Michael Jackson’s This Is It total sales of 351,000. This sets a new record in weekly and total sales for Blu-ray in Japan. Way to go Evangelion team!
I haven’t seen any of the Evangelion movies yet but I’ve heard they’re pretty good. Maybe I’ll buy Evangelion 1.0 this summer and enjoy some EVA action.
