A survey was conducted in Japan, asking 3,000 gamers what they’re favorite Square Enix game franchise was. Some titles that made it to the top 10 were surprising while others were predictable.

The ranking:
1. Dragon Quest; 30.3%

2. Final Fantasy; 20.4%

3. SaGa; 6.7%

4. Seiken Densetsu (Mana); 5.7%

5. Chrono Series; 4%

6. Itadaki Street; 3.4%

7. Kingdom Hearts; 2.9%

8. Front Mission; 2.8%

9. Valkyrie Profile; 2.7%

10. Full Metal Alchemist; 2.7%

The series I have played before are Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Chrono, Kingdom Hearts, Front Mission and Full Metal Alchemist. That’s more than half of this list (I do love me some Square Enix)! I’m surprised Kingdom Hearts isn’t in the top 5 but then again, this is a Japanese survey. The KH series isn’t as popular in Japan as it is here in America. And of course, Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy dominate the top spots. I’m a bit saddened that Star Ocean didn’t make it onto the list though…
