Last week, on June 2nd, Japanese artist YUI released her latest single, entitled to Mother. Well, it looks like the single isn’t doing too shabby, seeing as how it has managed to top the Oricon singles chart in its first week!
As always, YUI’s work never ceases to amaze me. Putting down her guitar for a piano, YUI says that this song is dedicated to her mother, who has supported her throughout her life. Moving an estimated 71,804 copies across Japan, to Mother beats out the next placed single by more than 10,000 units. Here is the official Oricon list:
1. YUI - to Mother = 71804
2. SID - RAIN = 61283
3. AKB48 - Ponytail to Shou Shou = 46279
4. Hokago Tea Time - Keion!!/Pure Pure Heart = 44230
5. Arashi - Monster = 29015

9. XIAH junsu - XIAH (Intoxication) = 13963

This is YUI’s seventh single to hit number one on the Oricon charts. Congratulations to her! She is a true musician and deserves it! Check out her performance on MUSIC STATION below:
