A Balinese teen was forced to marry a cow after he was caught having sex with it between two rice paddy fields.

Eighteen year old Ngurah Alit claimed he was being seduced by a young and beautiful woman who actually turned out to be a cow. How he could mistaken a cow for a “young and beautiful” woman is beyond me.

As part of a Pecaruan ritual to cleanse the village of the sin, Alit had to marry the cow. However, he soon passed out as he was surrounded by policemen and villagers trying to keep journalists from covering the scene.

The bride and groom was then drowned at sea, literally for the cow and symbolically for Alit. He was only bathed in the sea with his clothing thrown in the waves. And thus, the village was cleansed of the unholy incident.

Talk about a random shotgun wedding. You know who I feel bad for the most? The cow. I don’t think it wanted to have sex with the guy and it ended up getting drowned. Poor thing…
