The hot summer sun….The sparkling beach….Summer activities….And most importantly, no more school (except for those taking summer courses). What better time to have anime marathons than during the splendous season of summer?

Don’t know what anime to watch during the summer? Well, here is a list of anime that reminds me of this hot season:

Air Gear
I use to rollerblade during the summer as a kid so of course, Air Gear would remind me of this sunny season. Roller blading, battles and humor makes this a perfect anime to watch during your lazy days of summer. Plus, it might give you the urge to actually go out and rollerblade.

Eyeshield 21

Even if you’re not a fan of football (I’m not) you might enjoy watching Eyeshield 21 for its intense scenes and enjoyable characters (my personal favorite is Hiruma). I was pleasantly surprised at watching this anime. It has pretty good character development. Why is it on this list? Well, summer reminds me of the outdoors and the outdoors reminds me of sports. When I think of sports, the first one that pops into my head is football.

Samurai Champloo

We can’t have summer without an adventure and Samurai Champloo is one of the best ones you can watch. It has everything: drama, humor, action, fan service and good music. There are even a few scenes that will make you go “wtf?!” but in a good way. Also, the music mostly consists of the hip-hop genre which is a genre I usually associate with summer (probably because of the uplifting beats).

Cardcaptor Sakura

Cardcaptor Sakura is an anime that can get me into the summer mood. It’s such a happy anime that you can’t help but feel giddy inside every time Sakura is on one of her little adventures. There are also a few episodes that include going to the beach and summer festivals. A very fun anime to watch to release your inner child.

Flame of Recca

What’s a better anime to remind someone of summer than one about a ninja who uses dragon flames in battle? You will not regret your decision to have an anime marathon inside rather than go out in the scorching sun after seeing all those flames. But don’t worry. There’s a character in this anime that uses water to his advantage so the flames won’t be too overwhelming.

Samurai Champloo one of my favorites. That’s a must, the music, the story, the characters, everything is great.

Another one would be Cowboy Bebop


Card Captor Sakura!! whaaa it was like one of my first anime addictions!! xP
Samurai Champloo is awesome!! I love the ending!! ^^
and I just have seen some EyeShield 21 episodes because there is a channel broadcasting it right now!! but I really can’t watch it!! I haven’t sit down in front of a TV for a long long time!!

But I really wish for a vacation!! to watch Detective Conan!!

I’ve heard of all of these but I never watched them. I started to watch Air gear but something happened (dont know what) and I forgot about it.

i have watched quite alot of anime and i wouldnt mind watching more xD
im a big fan of romantic comedy anime so i recommend:
-ouran highschool host club
-special a
-skip beat

I think I’m going to go watch Air gear and Flame of Recca. But I would recommend Yu yu Hakusho a very awesome anime. It starts of more funny then towards the end it gets serious but it’s very enjoyable plus the very last episode was funny and sad because it was the end.


Nowadays I’m only rading mangas ... maybe I’ll watch an anime next
No wonder it looked so familiar! I’ve read Air Gear up to volume 3 ... or was it 4 XD Can’t remember oh well ... I need to watch CardCaptor Sakura >__< It’s been on my list for such a long time!!!! XD WHy does Samurai Champloo remind me of Bleach =_=

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED SAMURAI CHAMPLOO!!! I think it’s one of the best works I’ve ever watched!
I remember watching Cardcaptor Sakura when I was in elementary school ^^ good times! I like another song from this anime… it’s by Sakamoto Maaya ^^
I’ve never heard of the other three..
