The amphibious bike made its public appearance on May 30 in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China with its ability to function on land and water. The designer, Li Weiguo, used eight water buckets as the floating devices and adjustable vane wheels as propellers.

A very cool invention that I would like to try out one day. The design could use a bit of work though. The bike looks pretty cool in the water but when it’s on land, it isn’t as aesthetically pleasing to look at. On land, the bike sort of makes the person riding it look like a water delivery person.

I wonder if the bike will be mass produced or if this invention was just a project done for fun?
