It’s been known that 2NE1 will be making a comeback this hot summer. But before that, the girls recently headed to the U.S, the U.K, Japan and now they’ve headed back to the US. Netizens are still questioning their motives behind these visits.

Representatives of YG Entertainment stated, “Before their comeback, 2NE1 is simply at the peak of their practices and preparations for the new songs,” remaining quiet about the true reason for being in the U.S. Their location in the U.S. has only been hinted somewhere between New York or Los Angeles, but YG did not reveal much.

Netizens were wondering if 2NE1 decided to follow the Wonder Girls’ footsteps, to promote in the U.S. However, YG turned down all suspicions by stating, “It is still too early for 2NE1 to do activities in the U.S. For an artist, the most important thing is contents. It’s simply a matter of giving them enough time to sufficiently prepare in order to enhance their contents.”

I guess YG learned a big lesson from sending Se7en to the U.S…which failed big time. I think it’s best to stick with Korea and maybe Japan in the future, but it’s definitely too early to think of big overseas markets like the US.
