SNSD’s Yoona, Super Junior’s Heechul and KARA’s Nicole were featured on the 27th episode of SBS ‘Family Outing 2′, where they all revealed a painful secret of being singers in larger groups.
The three young idols compared the length of their solo parts in their group’s title tracks since debut.
For Heechul, he kicked off the competition and his total length was just 37 seconds for six Super Junior songs. Being in a group of 13 members, no wonder why he got the short end of the stick.
In a group of nine, YoonA had a better fate although it wasn’t that great either. Her total was slightly better with 42 seconds for seven SNSD songs like Into the New World, Girls’ Generation, Kissing You, GEE, Genie, Run Devil Run and Oh!. Everyone was shocked when they realized Yoona had only the line “I just want to tell you” for Oh!.
Nicole ended up as a marginal winner with 45 seconds overall. But since her group is much smaller with only five members, it wasn’t fair to compare. However, it was fun to see how each member plays out.
The same episode featured a segment for YoonA’s birthday. The family members make a homemade birthday cake for her and she blew out the candles and made her wishes. Heechul then gave YoonA a decorated pair of slippers, while the other members gave her a figurine, a doll and they even made Yoona wear a crown and she looked like a delighted child opening her presents. She also received stuffed toys and a gift certificate.
The most eye-catching gift was actually from 2PM’s Taecyeon, who gave her necklace with a pendant with the initial “Y” for Yoona. He even put it around her neck, during which the family members teased then and said, “Now, All that’s left is a kiss.” Scandalous!
