It has been reported that DBSK’s JaeChunSu is now demanding 3 billion won (or US $2.5 million) from the lawsuit against SM Entertainment to compensate their earnings from previous DBSK activities.
JaeChunSu made a claim that since their contract with SM Entertainment is now void (since October 2009) because it’s illegal, the profits that SME earned from the contract should be distributed among the three members. Originally, they had wanted SM to pay 10 billion won each since the DBSK as a whole has earned at least 60 billion won in total (excluding SM’s expenses). However, they decided to demand only 10% of that amount for now, hence the low price of 3 billion won (US $2.5 million).
Along with the claim, they argued, “SM Entertainment claims that 13-year-long contract is needed for overseas activities, but it’s unacceptable. We members are the ones who have to pay for the damage if the contract is broken in any way, and its amount is too high to be acceptable.”
Recent reports are saying that the trio will eventually increase the amount of compensation, but the final amount hasn’t been decided yet.
