It has been reported that actor Park Yong Ha was found dead apparently by committing suicide on June 30th. The shocking news reached many fans, including mournful artists like DBSK’s Jaejoong.
Park Yong Ha was famous for his roles in various popular dramas like “Winter Sonata” and “On Air”. He was also scheduled to film a new drama called “Love Song” along with actress Yoon Eun Hye this fall. Therefore to many fans’ surprise, Gangnam Police Station said Yong Ha’s mother found the 32-year-old actor hanging himself by from the cord of his mobile phone charger at around 5:30 a.m. His body has been placed at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital.
Police are investigating into the cause behind his suicide based on testimonies by his family. However, a source close to the actor said Park Yong Ha had been having a hard time coping with his father’s illness of stomach cancer. Other sources also say that Yong Ha was experiencing business troubles after setting up his own management company, and that his own 14-year battle with insomnia may have been reasons for his passing.
DBSK’s Jaejoong, who is currently in the midst of recording in the United States, burst into tears after hearing the news of his close friend Park Yong Ha. Jaejoong said, “I really want to visit the room where Park Yong Ha’s coffin is placed now, what should I do? How could this happen to him. Yesterday (June 29th) we were just talking on the phone. We were supposed to meet when I return to South Korea…”
A representative of Jaejoong said, “The relationship between Park Yong Ha and Jaejoong was more than just a close relationship. They tell each other everything. When Jaejoong heard about this sad news in America, he’s totally clueless and was bitter to know nothing about the incidence. The most heartbreaking thing is that he will have to stay in United States and won’t be able to visit Park Yong Ha’s coffin.”
