Tomtom is a female Korean artist that has briefly flown under my radar since her debut single, Super Vocal, hit last week. Well, I recently discovered her, and, boy, and I was blown away! This girl has definitely got some serious pipes! But does her single live up to her voice? Keep reading to find out…
1. Top Girl [5/5]
“Top Girl” is the title track of the single. I really have to say that I was sold when I heard the intro. If I had to describe this song in one word, it would be “FIERCE (yes, in all capital letters).” Not only does the song have a fierce beat and instrumental, but her amazing vocal talents also shine through in this song.
2. Hello [5/5]
Tomtom slows it down for the second track, which is a cover of Lionel Richie’s “Hello.” I really think she did a great job of making the song her own. With a slightly more modern instrumental track accompanying her voice, the song has a more youthful feel. It’s a nice, modern spin on a classic. Simply amazing.
Final Thoughts: This single is definitely worth a download. Tomtom has some amazing vocal talents, and her talents shine through in both of these songs. I am going to be severely upset if she goes through the Korean music industry unnoticed.
Overall: 5/5
