In Tuen Mun, Hong Kong, a mother forced her 8-year-old daughter to walk around naked at a shopping mall as a form of punishment. If you think that’s ridiculous, wait till you hear the reason for the mother’s harshness.

You would think that the girl did something terribly horrible to receive such an extreme punishment. Did she smart-mouth her mother? Rob a bank? Kill somebody? [Though I believe making a child walk around naked isn't a proper punishment for anything.] Naw, she didn’t do anything that horrible. All she did was break their electric fan’s switch.

Luckily for her, a passerby bought her clothes and called the police.

I know it’s summer and with the season comes the hot weather, but humiliating your daughter in front of people because she broke some fan’s switch? Before she took her daughter’s clothes off and pushed her out the door, the mother beat her with a clothes hanger, leaving bruises on her legs, arms and chest. What a way to inflict physical and then emotional pain.

The mother pleaded guilty at court for abusing her daughter and realized that her punishments were harsh (that’s an understatement).

The child’s most likely traumitized for life. And what’s worst for her is that her own mother caused the pain and humiliation. Hopefully she can recover from this and realize that she didn’t do anything wrong.
