In India, a woman had a sex change to avoid an arranged marriage from her family.
Doctors were semi-forced to perform the operation because the woman threatened to commit suicide if they didn’t oblige. The surgery lasted seven hours.
After her surgery, the woman exclaimed, “I feel free now. No one can force me to marry….It is better to become a man to get rid of sufferings met by women.”
Sources say that the woman wanted to spend her whole life with her close female friend and had the surgery done while her parents were preparing her for a different life-long commitment (arranged marriage).
