After giving birth in the lavatory of one of Turkmenistan Airlines’ planes, a 22-year-old Indian woman tried to get rid of her newborn by flushing it down the toilet.

The baby was found stuck in the toilet in northern India after the plane landed and was rushed to the hospital (still stuck in the toilet bowl). Surgeons used a hacksaw to release the baby’s head from the toilet. The child is in critical condition (I’m actually surprised the baby’s still alive).

The young mother was arrested at the airport after her baby was found. She was returning home from finishing a degree abroad and is apparently unmarried (most likely the reason why she did such a horrible thing).

I’m guessing she got knocked-up from an overseas boyfriend (or from a fling) and didn’t want to shame herself or her family with the pregnancy. So she thought that if she got rid of the “evidence” (the baby) then the pregnancy never happened. Of course, this is just speculation but it seems to be the most “logical” reason why someone would try to kill their own baby. I hear India is pretty strict when it comes to the marriage business.
