Teenage singer Charice getting a face-job for Glee debut

The things Hollywood does to you. 18 year old Charice Pempengco inserted botox into her face recently in preparation for her American television debut. Why? Well, “To look fresh on camera” of course!

Questionable choices by Charice, the beloved Filipino singer who was launched into the lime light after viral videos of her singing her head off appeared online, has people worried and disturbed.

To prepare for her debut on Glee, Charice “underwent a 30-minute Thermage skin-tightening procedure and Botox to make her ‘naturally round face’ more narrow,” said Vicki Belo (celebrity cosmetic surgeon) in an interview with ABS-CBN television.

Residents of Manila expressed their concern, “I think it’s OK for women to have procedures done, but Charice is too young. Does she need it?” Now a days, I’m no longer surprised to hear that a teen underwent surgery to enhance their looks. As for Charice, she’ll definitely hurt some feelings back in her home country for taking on the Western way of approaching fame.

What does Charice have to say about this?

“All people will be anticipating how will Charice look? Is she good enough to pit against Rachel Berry? So of course there is tremendous pressure…It’s really a blessing (referring to her opportunity to star on the hit show Glee)…[I'm] very proud to be an Asian, very proud to be Filipino.”

Is Hollywood pushing Charice in the wrong direction or, Hey! you gotta do what you gotta do to make it big! What do you think?
