Just in case Uee, Raina, Nana and Lizzy weren’t enough for you guys, it looks like Pledis Entertainment has begun looking for the ninth member of After School. That number nine, however, is causing some unrest among SNSD members. SONES, infamous for their undying support of their group, seem to be up in arms about this new recruitment! Keep reading to find out more about the auditions and the angry SONES!

Auditions, which will begin on August 18th, will consist of four separate stages. Each stage is separated by only a couple of days, so it looks like the eliminations are going to be quick. The new member is set to be announced by the end of the summer on September 1st. Pledis has stated that they are looking for Korean, Japanese and Chinese girls ages ten to twenty-six that have a wide range of talents. For more information on auditions, click here.

I, for one, am always excited for new members to groups. It really keeps things interesting and fresh. Although I’m sometimes a little disappointed when new members are sub-par, I’m keeping my hopes up for this one… Maybe they’ll get another Raina!

As for the SONE issue, all I have to say is: Sorry, SONES, but the last time I checked, SNSD does not own the number nine.

Why the hell would anyone want that....


wow....Pledis you guys are morons. As if adding random ass people who added little to nothing to the group wasnt enough, you were forced to split the group into sub groups because you wanted the girls to have more “attention”...But no wait, THAT wasnt enough either. Adding some random preteen ninth girl just has to take the cake. What was that old saying again? “Quality OVER quantity”


8 is already enough, why do they need to add another member?


i dont really mind after school getting a new member...hopefully she’s not 10 xD wth haha but Sones..really? they don’t own the number 9 >.> having 9 members isn’t that made them “unique” it was their music

Wow the auditions go really fast and the 9th member will be already announced at the end of the summer. I don’t really mind a 9th member to After School^^
Though 9members is kinda what made SNSD unique, along with their girly features, like 13+2 for Super Junior.

I agree. There’s nothing wrong with After School having nine members. But yeah, the age range doesn’t seem too right. I think they’ll still choose among the older ones though.

first of all snsd doesn’t own the number nine,isnt it? after school’s company is free to add another member ,isnt it? ahaha smile) im a fan of snsd and after school but i don’t go to any side . well im just saying that after school having 9 members is not a big deal so they dont have to make a issue or something.

add all the members you want, but to me, the more members there are, the crappier (or just less talented singing-wise) the group is raspberry...I know thats harsh to say, but its my opinion.

I really wish AS could rewind and go back to the days of 5 members. that was my favorite AS generation :D

I think they are just trying to match up to SNSD. But I’m a Sone. I really don’t think that this is right. I mean adding another member to match up to SNSD. really? They all have great vocal skills. As for the new member thing, depends on who they get.
If they come out with another Raina, hell yeah I’m up for it.
But personally, Lizzy and Nana aren’t that good talent-wise (although Nana is gorgeous I admit)


this is crap, companies shouldn’t go around adding members to groups whenever they feel like it. It doesn’t bring “freshness”. It only brings instability to the group. After School already consist of 8 good members so whats the reason of adding another 1?

looking for another member means they’re saying the current 8 are not good enough.

they should just focus on the current members instead of bringing in some one new. Totally rubbish management by Pledis

true,SNSD doesn’t own the number 9. True, a whole bunch of guy bands have the same number of ppl and it works out fine buuuut, i can see why the fans are mad. it could seem like they’re just trying to copy SNSD. plus i think After School is already good enough as is, why add more? the names will just be too confusing to learn (unless they do a OneDay thing). also ten is WWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY to young, they should have at least said 15. =)i talk too much, sorry
