Sure, we’re all pretty excited about StarCraft II. In fact, we’re even hosting a StarCraft II giveaway here on Ningin. Our StarCraft II craze, however, is nothing in comparison to the craze that’s taking over South Korea right now!

After becoming a nationwide obsession in 1998, StarCraft has since evolved into what some have called a “sport” in South Korea. When it comes to StarCraft and other similar games, Koreans are famous for their sheer dedication and skill.

StarCraft II, which made its worldwide launch on Tuesday, is racking in massive sales. More importantly, however, the game itself could prove as a “game changer” in Korean competitive gaming. StarCraft II, while similar to the original in respect to game play, has several differences that will surely mix-up the gaming experiences even for seasoned veterans of the first. Professional gamer Greg Fields commented that, “In StarCraft II, the leagues aren’t established yet, they’re all building up — it’s going to be huge, but we don’t know how long it will take, how huge it will be, whether (existing teams) will be good at the game or not.

I have been dying to get my hands on my own copy — I am certain that this game is going to rock my world!

Anybody else out there planning to buy/already have StarCraft II?
