Beloved JPOP artist Utada Hikaru has announced on her web diary that she will be taking a break from the music industry to concentrate on personal needs. She felt that she was neglecting her personal growth due to her successful music career that started 15 years ago.

But have no fear people! It’s only a break. She will return when the time is right and once it feels natural for her to create music again. Also, she will be releasing her second singles collection album titled Utada Hikaru SINGLE COLLECTION VOL.2. It’ll include songs like Dareka no Negai ga Kanau Koro, Be My Last, Beautiful World and at least one new song. It doesn’t have a release date yet so keep your eyes and ears open!

I don’t blame Utada for wanting to spend time away from her music. It has interfered with her past relationships with director Kazuaki Kiriya (divorced back in 2007) and her last boyfriend (broke up in January). She deserves a break and hopefully, she is able to find happiness. Good luck Utada! You will be missed!
